A CONSCIOUS COMMUNITY

Few have put Copenhagen on the world map like Stine Goya. A true fashion pioneer of color, creativity, and imaginative prints. A frontrunner in inclusion, diversity, and with a pounding heart for a more responsible version of the fashion industry. We asked Stine about her growing emphasis on the sustainable aspects of her business.

How do you overall work with sustainability?

Sustainability is a top priority for our brand and we incorporate it into every action we take. We have put a Sustainability Policy in place that is focused on three key focus points: Product, Planet, People, and our goals are actually more ambitious than ever before. One main goal is to use 90% sustainable and/or recycled material across our collections by 2025. Over the past year, we realized more than ever that we have to be more than just clothes. We have to form and support a value system dedicated to creating a more sustainable, ethical, and diverse world. It is our responsibility as a brand to drive change.

Can you highlight a specific sustainable practice dear to you?

For me, it’s about taking a step back and making more conscious choices. This decade is heralding the critical decade of change in our global community and environment. When you give yourself space and time to think & act, you realize that opportunities to live more sustainably are endless. Whether it’s your clothing choices, your transport choices, or your political alliances – taking the time to make better decisions will change your impact in the long term.

How does sustainability play into the STINE GOYA HQ?

Our team is both our family and our community. Together we are committed to bringing a more responsible vision to life. All of us strive to build a culture to be proud of; from only using green energy, treating resources responsibly, avoiding waste as much as possible, supporting mentoring programs, and charitable initiatives, to being great partners, co-investing in new methodologies, and upholding high and progressive working standards.

What personally inspires you in the world of sustainability?

Activists like Greta Thunberg, Arizona Muse, and Clare Press are truly inspiring to me – and not to forget our community. This is what keeps me going striving for a more responsible and brighter future.
