TURNING COFFEE TRULY CIRCULAR

Since our inception, our recycling program has seen us collect spent coffee grounds, and upcycle it in multiple ways, turning waste into value.

FIRST because we believe in a future where a circular economy is a key ingredient in a more sustainable society. SECONDLY, because spent coffee grounds represent a major METHANE PROBLEM. When coffee grounds decompose, they generate methane gas, a gas which is 25-86 times more harmful to the environment than CO2.

This circular approach enables us to produce as diverse upcycled products as:

Bio-diesel - our recycling program takes coffee ground from useless waste to green energy.  We collaborate with DAKA Refood for the majority of our recycling volume. Taking the coffee grounds from useless waste to a substitute for fossil fuels.

Soap - with Ganni we have turned waste into a new luxury product. The liquid soap is made with oils derived from the spent coffee grounds from the Ganni, and a result of the unique kaffe bueno circular biorefinery process.

Beer - together with the circular brewery BRØL spent coffee grounds from the WOODS co-working spaces, are turned into flavors coming both as a Porter and an IPA.

It's all part of our mission and a future coffee industry running sustainable, plant-based and circular principles.
