SPACE TO MEET

Veo Technologies has made it easy to record sport automatically - without the need for a camera operator. In their new 7.000 m2 HQ in the burgeoning Copenhagen Nørrebro quarter. Sport meets you everywhere. Meeting rooms have names like "Laudrup" and there is a colorful indoor multi-court. We have been lucky enough to work closely with Office Manager Pernille Kiel, and interior designer Maria Helgstrand, to inject coffee culture into the place from day one. We spoke to Pernille about the new HQ and the Veo culture.

You recently moved to your new HQ, tell us about the consideration behind?

Going from 700 m2 to our new home with 7.000 m2 was a chance to not only make room for substantial growth of the team, but also create spaces throughout all floors, where creativity and collaboration are built into the fabric of the building. We have designed it for the random meeting of different skillsets, competences, and ambitions. It’s a house that is buzzing with sport, music, creativity, and technology.

Tell us about some of the choices you made to make the Veo DNA shine through?

Making sports technology accessible to all is our mission. This means we are culture at the intersection of sports and technology. It manifests itself in many ways, not least in naming our meeting rooms, inspired by sports personalities and scientists alike. Names like MARIE CURIE, LAUDRUP, and EDISON are just a few of them.

Overall we have designed the spaces for people to meet, but also to cater to the different mental states the team moves in and out of. There are vibrant and energetic spaces, like our rooftop or the iconic indoor multi-court in bright colors.  There is room for focus and immersion in our “phone booths” or quiet zones. Or where community thrives, on the 12-meter long couch, or in the central town hall spaces.

How does sustainability fit into the new space, what has been most visible?

We started out with what you can call “the easy sustainable wins” with systems in place for sorting the trash, recycling, and using materials in a considered manner.

But moreover, it means we have been through a total rethinking of our suppliers, to choose the ones with a sustainable agenda. This means traveling, cleaning, plants, lunch, and coffee not the least

How has coffee culture been part of the new office design?

Coffee is central to our townhall communal spaces, with the sparkling machines placed right in the middle. It’s where people gather. One of my greatest joys is to come into the office in the morning and see the lively interactions of our different departments around the coffee machines.

We wanted a state-of-the-art coffee set-up, and found the market's best machines automatic machines from Eversys with oat milk as an option, together with coffee of the highest quality and with the most ambitious sustainability credentials.

We have also bought into the whole sustainable system surrounding the solution with emission-free delivery, zero waste boxes, and recycling of the coffee grounds.

Finally, how do you drink your coffee?

I prefer a cortado with oat milk.
