OFFICE WITH A PURPOSE
The Danish branch of Unicef moved to a new Danish HQ. We spoke to Customer Service Manager Tine Christensen, about what went into creating their new home.
What was important in designing your new office?
The atmosphere was paramount to creating our new Danish headquarters. We thought a lot about both colors and making our purpose visible in the office. This way the first thing that greets you when you enter, is our reception desk, made out of the iconic boxes we send around the world. Large wall pictures show the children we are helping, an important daily reminder when our work often affects lives far away.
What is a good office culture to you?
A homely feeling. Good collaboration with colleagues. Keep our focus on the children we are helping.
Sustainability?
We take a sustainable approach, whenever it’s possible. For us, we always have to take into account that we are operating at a competitive level, so as much money as possible goes to help. Recycling is a focus, and we recently joined the coffee ground recycling program.
How do you drink your coffee?
I’m into a good cappuccino.
Unicef is drinking a delicious coffee from eastern Uganda. A bean grown in high elevations up 2,600 meters on the slopes of Mount Elgon.
